Terms of Service
Last updated: August 22, 2026
Welcome to GitFig. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GitFig Figma plugin and related services ("Service") operated by GitFig ("we", "our", or "us").
By using GitFig, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Service.
1. Description of Service
GitFig is a Figma plugin that enables bi-directional synchronization between Figma files and GitHub repositories. The Service allows you to:
- Connect Figma Design files to GitHub repositories
- Sync design tokens, variables, and styles between Figma and GitHub
- Bridge Figma Make's auto-created repositories to your own repositories
- Create branches and pull requests from within Figma
2. Account Requirements
To use GitFig, you must:
- Have a valid Figma account
- Have a valid GitHub account
- Authorize GitFig to access your GitHub account via OAuth
- Be at least 13 years of age
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your accounts and for all activities that occur under your accounts.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use GitFig only for lawful purposes. You may not:
- Use the Service to violate any laws or regulations
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
- Use the Service to transmit malware, viruses, or malicious code
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
- Use the Service to infringe on intellectual property rights
- Resell or redistribute the Service without permission
4. Your Content
You retain ownership of all content you sync through GitFig, including design files, tokens, and code. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your content solely to provide the Service.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to sync any content through GitFig and that such content does not violate any third-party rights.
5. GitHub Integration
GitFig integrates with GitHub using OAuth authentication. By connecting your GitHub account:
- You authorize GitFig to read and write to repositories you specify
- You acknowledge that GitFig will create commits, branches, and pull requests on your behalf
- You can revoke access at any time through GitHub's settings
We do not store your GitHub password. Authentication is handled entirely through GitHub's OAuth system.
6. GitFig Pro Subscriptions
GitFig offers an optional paid tier, GitFig Pro, which adds variable modes support. The free tier remains available and functional without a subscription.
- Billing by Figma. Pro subscriptions are purchased through the Figma Community. Figma, Inc. is the merchant of record: it processes payment, collects applicable taxes, and manages renewals and cancellations. Figma's Renewal and Cancellation Terms and refund policy govern the purchase itself.
- No partial refunds. Per Figma's policy, plugin subscriptions are not refunded for partial periods. You may cancel at any time from your Figma account to stop future renewals; Pro features remain active until the end of the paid period.
- Per-user entitlement. A subscription is tied to the Figma account that purchased it and cannot be transferred between Figma accounts.
- Figma plan requirements. Variable modes are subject to the mode limits of your Figma plan (for example, Figma's Starter plan allows one mode per collection). Verify your Figma plan supports multiple modes before subscribing.
- On lapse or cancellation. If your subscription ends, GitFig stops syncing multi-mode files but never modifies or deletes your existing Figma variables or repository files. Your data remains intact and readable.
- Price changes. Subscription price changes are made through Figma's platform, which notifies existing subscribers in advance of any increase.
7. Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. We may:
- Perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability
- Modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice; if we discontinue a paid feature, affected subscribers will be notified and can cancel before their next renewal
- Suspend accounts that violate these Terms
8. Intellectual Property
GitFig and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by GitFig and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
The GitFig name, logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are our trademarks.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
- FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
- NON-INFRINGEMENT
- THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GITFIG SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Any loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill
- Any damages arising from your use of the Service
- Any damages arising from synchronization errors or data loss
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Indemnification

- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights

12. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms.
Upon termination:
- Your right to use the Service will cease immediately
- You may request deletion of your data
- Provisions that by their nature should survive will survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, indemnification, and limitation of liability)
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by:
- Posting the updated Terms on this page
- Updating the "Last updated" date
- Sending an email notification for significant changes
Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
15. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and GitFig regarding the Service.
